Purpose
The purpose of the Bourkevale Community Centre (BCC) Youth Volunteer Award is to encourage youth to volunteer at BCC specifically but also to increase appreciation for community and develop life-long volunteerism.
Criteria
- Minimum of 25 volunteer hours at BCC. Time and tasks to be agreed upon and signed off on by current BCC board member.
- One-page essay answering the question(s) what does community/volunteering mean to me and/or why is community/volunteering important?
- All criteria must be met by the deadline in order to be considered.
- Candidates must be between the ages of 12 and 18.
- Candidates can be from out of catchment.
Time Frame
- Award will be open between April 13, 2023 and April 12, 2024.
- Award Committee will deliberate and make decision between April 12, 2024 and the 2024 AGM.
- Winner to be announced at the 2024 AGM.
