Some of the dance steps are similar to steps in single line dance\, except we move in a line around the outside of a dance floor\, leaving the centre open for regular couple dance\, like foxtrot\, waltz\, polka\, etc. \n\n\n\nWe use old time/country western music which may be different from used at line dance. Couples learn a sequence of dance steps for each pattern (commit to memory) so we can all do the same same steps in the line\, just by naming the pattern. \n\n\n\nWe usually ask new dancers who want to attend\, already know how to do the basic social dance steps: fox\, waltz\, polka. \n\n\n\nPattern dance is Bourkevale’s longest running program!
